No push, nor massage
You may know the word "Shiatsu". The translation of this word is "acupressure", so you may imagine it as strongly pressing the body with the fingers.
Shiatu is not the only technique of Japanese osteopathy. There are several techniques that do not need power. Since it was first thought that the cause of the pain was due to muscle fatigue, several technique were developed to physically massage the muscle.
However recently, the trend of thoughts is that the tension of the myofascia would be the cause of the pain. I noticed that there are lots of techniques without strong pressing in Japanese osteopathy to loosen the myofascia, by slightly stimulating its stiffened spots along bone sides with nails or stroke the skin gently.
Find it hard to believe ? Come and give my technique a try!
